Unaffiliated Candidate for Chairman, Swain County Board of Commissioners
I love these mountains, the people who live here, and the rural nature that makes Swain County such a special place.
I’m running for Chairman of the Swain County Board of Commissioners because I want to help protect our mountain way of life while making sure our children can build a good life here too — with good jobs, homes they can afford, and good schools.
I want to put my experience with managing budgets, improving business process, and solving difficult problems to work for Swain County. County government should be open, careful with every tax dollar, and responsive to the people who live here.
I’ll work to protect what makes Swain County special, encourage community involvement, and leave this place a little better for the generations that follow us.

Working for Swain County
I’m running as an unaffiliated candidate because good county government isn’t about politics—it’s about serving people, making smart decisions, and planning for the future. Here’s what I’ll be working for as your Chairman.
Open & Accountable Government
Government business should be transparent, and decisions based on what’s best for Swain County—not on politics or insider’s interests.
Careful Use of Tax Dollars
Every tax dollar should be spent wisely and responsibly, remembering that those dollars came from hard working citizens.
A Stronger Local Economy
Support local businesses, create good jobs, and leverage tourism dollars for opportunities here at home.
Protecting Our Mountain Way of Life
Change is happening. Let’s manage growth responsibly while preserving the rural character and traditions of Swain County.
